José António Calado da Silva, known as Calado (born 1 March 1974 in Lisbon), is a retired Portuguese footballer who played as a central midfielder. After coming to prominence in his country with S.L. Benfica, he would play the rest of his 19-year career in Spain (two teams) and Cyprus (two). During his early career, Calado, who started playing football with local outfit Casa Pia AC, represented C.F. Estrela da Amadora and Sport Lisboa e Benfica, reaching international status with the latter.
