"Quirky, funny and immensely enjoyable" kids'-eye take on the first Christmas - aimed at preteens, sneakily enjoyed by adults! Jamie had BIG dreams. He wanted to be a prince. He wanted his dad to marry a lovely young woman called Mary. He wanted an army of little brothers and sisters who would look up to him and think how clever and important he was. But at no point did he expect one of them to be a long-awaited king, destined to reign forever. Nope. Not part of the plan... The kids have taken over the Jesus story! JOSEPH'S BOY is the first of The Young Testament, a fun, accessible series of full-length books covering the whole, breathtaking sweep of the Jesus story and beyond, all from the perspective of the children. Overlapping and weaving together into one story world, each book has a different child as the main character - until the fifth, where we will follow all of them and their friends into young adulthood. JOSEPH'S BOY covers the birth and childhood of Jesus and his cousin John the Baptist, with apprentice carpenter / wannabe prince Jamie as our engaging yet sometimes huffy young hero.
Autorenporträt
Lynn Robertson Hay has a passion for storytelling - acting and writing since she was a child, and now professionally for over thirty years. Her writing covers TV, film, radio and theatre, winning an award from the Writers' Guild of Great Britain for Best Children's Theatre. One of her episodes, "Nun But The Brave", was chosen as the example of how to write for DOCTORS on a BBC training scheme. Jared Harris is attached to star in screenplay BRAVE THE DARK. As an actor, Lynn has played parts ranging from Lady Macbeth to Mole and Puck to Miss Prism. She recently made her West End debut understudying Stockard Channing in APOLOGIA, going on as the lead numerous times, and also appeared in the third season of crime drama UNFORGOTTEN for ITV. Her one-woman show REDEEMING FEATURES has played a variety of venues in the UK, US and Europe: churches, theatres, tents, shopping malls, conference centres, cafés, a swish hotel on a Swiss mountain, and the only part of Glastonbury Abbey still standing (not her fault). You can see her reading many excerpts from her books and answering children's questions about writing on YouTube channel, L R Hay. Lynn's claim to fame is that she once won an episode of TV quiz show FIFTEEN TO ONE. Twitter: @jairus_girl @lynnrobshay
