The Journal of Character Education is the only professional journal in education devoted to character education. It is designed to cover the field-from the latest research to applied best practices. We include original research reports, editorials and conceptual articles by the best minds in our field, reviews of the latest books, and other relevant strategies and manuscripts by educators that describe best practices in teaching and learning related to character education. The Journal of Character Education has for over a decade been the sole scholarly journal focused on research, theory, measurement, and practice of character education. This second issue of the 2020 volume of the Journal of Character Education is a guest-edited issue focused on the Character.org National Schools of Character. We are grateful to Heather Cazad and Sheril Morgan, who worked with JCE Co-Editor Jack Benninga and with Character.org to bring this exciting practitioner-focused issue to our readers. The issue opens with two articles highlighting the 11 Principles of Character as described by Character.org. The Voices from the Field section then highlights 10 schools that were designated as National Schools of Character by exemplifying the 11 Principles. We hope these articles and stories inspire you as they have us.
