Dr. Locke-Henderson became an author when she was able to write. God elevated her to the typewriter, then to computer. She has felt that God has invested so many words in her heart. Writing them and sharing them is a necessary journey that she continues to travel for over 62 years.She has spent several years in school for a B.A. in Sociology, Masters in Social Work and Ph.D. in Philosophy. She began her degree in motherhood 1975 and ended it 1982. The people for her degree in motherhood are Cornelius, Edward, Schnearia and Benjamin. Between the 4 children are 7 grands, Sierra, Simone, Elijah, Adonis, Nina, Sunshine and Edward Jr. Her career path has included Medical Social Worker, Community Social Worker, School Social Worker and currently Senior Practice Associate at The National Association of Social Work. She received numerous awards for her work in social work from Social Worker of the Year DC Metro Area and Lifetime Achievement Award for Social Work.Dr. Henderson is a poetess extra ordinary, an artist, and a playwriter. A gift close to her heart is helping children love writing their stories. The foundation for all that has been accomplished in her life is Christ and His choices for gifting her. He is her only constant factor in her survival.
