Joy met her husband, Bill Boerop, at the European Bible Institute in Paris, France. Together they served with Youth for Christ International in Belgium. Joy and Bill then immigrated to the United States, where over and over again their faith was challenged and tested. Eventually doors were opened to them for worldwide ministry with World Thrust International, founded by Joy's husband.
