Tee thought his world was unknown to the rest of humanity. He was taught his ancestors had left the immoral civilization that spawned them behind. He believed their planet was well hidden in its remote corner of the universe. Pacifica wasn't perfect. It definitely wasn't Eden. Not even close. The genetically altered psychopaths who roamed the majority of their world were a constant threat. Growing enough food in a pre-industrial civilization was a challenge involving hard work, sacrifice, and good luck. But for all its problems, Pacifica was home. Tee's people were free. Tee lost his freedom and his youthful innocence in brutal fashion. He discovers that what he was taught in school was false. Slavery has not disappeared from the human condition. Blood sports are not illegal. Pacifica is not alone. There are bigger fish in the pond. And those fish are hungry.

Autorenporträt
Tom Burrell resides with his wife in Northern California. When not writing, Tom is busy with their five children and five grandchildren. He has a degree in mechanical engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Before becoming an author, Tom enjoyed a career in the electronic test and measurement industry. Prior to becoming a responsible adult, Tom spent a decade of his youth wandering aimlessly working a long list of jobs. These included lifeguard, swimming instructor, janitor, security guard, grill cook, painter, greenhouse worker, midnight shift convenience store clerk, residential liquor delivery driver, waiter, too many factory jobs to count, day laborer when immediate cash was required, and maker of handmade deer skin cowboy hats. These custom hats were sold by traveling around California to county fairs and other events where people tend to drink too much.
