This book talks to the predisposition of the Court of Appeal in Kenya to continue embedding the old order, when the appellate court was used as a gatekeeper for the executive. In 2010 Kenya promulgated a new Constitution that has been herald as a transformative charted. The new constitution has enshrined under chapter six, leadership, and integrity. The architectural design and idea was that Kenyans wanted to sanitize and disinfect their governance structure AND general politics. Kenyans were longing to enjoy good leadership after having been quarantined in autocracy and corruption. Kenyans wanted their leaders to be of impeccable character. However, no sooner had the High Court declared a few leaders unfit to hold public office than the laid-back Court of Appeal overturned such orders. To date, the country is still grappling with the menace of corruption, something that the court of appeal would have helped fight had it taken up its position in cleaning the political and governance stage after the promulgation of the constitution.
