This book deals with the major conceptual and procedural innovations in Congolese positive law, especially with regard to the judicial protection of the child; it describes the various legal instruments that have each defined the scope of the concept of the child on the one hand, and on the other hand, the way in which the child is protected in the various contexts in which he or she may be found.While, on the whole, these legal instruments lay down rules relating to the protection of the child, each according to its own field of intervention, it is not at all impossible to note that there are similarities and divergences in their respective provisions.This is the case, for example, with the African Charter, some of whose provisions are identical to those of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and under the terms of which the best interests of the child are placed at the centre of everything, appearing as a leitmotif in all their provisions.
