Autorenporträt
Bridget Spackman, a public-school educator, has worked on developing curriculum, instruction and assessment for her district in the areas of social studies and English language arts. Bridget established the first multi-age program in her district and provided instruction to over seventy-five learners each year across multiple grade levels. She focuses her research in providing authentic learning experiences that lead to building twenty-first century skills that will encourage and benefit her students for years to come. Bridget also works to inspire and provide strategies to educators around the world. Through her presence on social media and YouTube, she discusses methods of literacy instruction that provide authentic, relatable, and attainable instruction to students, plus powerful tools for building autonomy, independence, and motivation in her students. She also writes curriculum across various grade levels that enable teachers to easily implement her teachings into any classroom setting. Bridget Spackman lives in York, Pennsylvania with her husband and two sons: Ian, age 13, and Blaine, age 5, along with their adopted goldendoodle Walter. As a mother and an educator, Bridget was afforded the unique position to see both the tech-driven/STEAM-led learning abilities of Ian and the kinesthetic/active interaction of Blaine. Given the vastly different learning preferences residing under her own roof alone, she understands the necessity and the importance of implementing adaptive learning techniques in her classrooms of 25 learners or more. She is known for her education YouTube channel and website, The Lettered Classroom.
