David Weeres grew up on a small farm near Saint Nicholas in Central Minnesota. After serving as a sergeant in the United States Army, he became a commercial pilot and spent much of his career as a major airline pilot; he currently is a corporate chief pilot. For nine years he was an adjunct professor of aviation at St. Cloud State University. He has an undergraduate degree in engineering and a master's degree in aeronautical science. David holds a Doctorate of Education in Leader-ship from Saint Mary's University of Minne-sota. He lives in Clearwater, Minne-sota, with his wife Karen and children Benjamin and Heidi.
