Plato's view of Greek societies in general and Athenian society in particular leads him to conclude that injustice is at the heart of all the ills from which humans suffer: "Injustice gives rise to dissension, hatred and strife among men, whereas justice fosters concord and friendship. If human societies are crumbling under the weight of crises and violence, it is because they are deeply absorbed by injustice, and only justice can remedy this.
