In diesem Sammelband werden Vorträge publiziert, die von Wissenschaftlern verschiedener Nationen – vor allem aus Indien, Pakistan, Deutschland, USA und den zentralasiatischen Republiken – während des internationalen und interdisziplinären Symposiums „Karakorum – Hindukush – Himalaya.
