From an early age, Al Ulsrud always loved how certain words could convey an undefined feeling in a sentence. He was taught that as a foundation for a diverse vocabulary, correct spelling was important. How a word sounds when spoken often gives little clue to its actual spelling. Lacey Patterson (Illustrator) Since the fourth grade, Lacey has been passionate about drawing. Originally pulling inspiration from famous horses, she has explored a variety of art form, from graphic design to cartooning, eventually leading to book illustration. Using art to express herself, she gives every piece a personality that brings the characters to life. This is her second illustrated Katarina book.
