Autorenporträt
Pat was born in London and grew up during the blitz. As a trained nurse, she spent many years working as a district nurse in Suffolk, a job which she loved. She wanted to know more about Barrow, the village in which she lives and she decided to research it. Pat found out that the Gifford family of Shetland (who her daughter has married into) was from the same lineage as Sir William Gifford who ruled the Barrow Manor and built Barrow Hall in the thirteenth century. Being intrigued by this, Pat decided to research the whole of the thirteenth century of England at great depth over many years. The many characters in the story are real people who lived at this period and are recorded in the chronicles This is Pat's first novel.
