J. S. Lenore was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. She attended Elgin High School, graduating within the top ten of her class. She majored in Japanese Studies at Earlham College and graduated with honors before getting her Masters in Teaching, also from Earlham College. She started creative writing at a young age, mainly writing fanfiction, but did not find much success until after graduation. In 2013, writing under the handle p1013, J. S. Lenore posted her first fanfiction for MTV's Teen Wolf. This story, titled The Full Moon Like Blood, and others gained a moderate following. In the same year, she decided to branch out into original fiction, writing the rough draft of Burner during National Novel Writing Month. She's since written five novels in the Affinity Series.J. S. Lenore currently lives in Indianapolis with her husband, two children, one cat, one dog, and zero ghosts.
