Autorenporträt
Daniel was born and raised in Ontario, Canada, near Toronto. Daniel's life represents the quintessential Canadian immigrant experience. His parents immigrated to Canada from Italy via Switzerland. Though they did not speak English or French, they arrived in Canada with the prospect of a new life made possible by his father's vocation as a car mechanic, a trade that was highly sought after in those years. Daniel studied English and Political Science at Western University, where he won the prestigious gold medal award for highest standing in his program. He went on to complete a Master's degree from the University of Waterloo, wherein he wrote an unorthodox thesis that playfully mocked the overly serious nature of academia while delving into the autobiographical nature of art. He has traveled extensively throughout the US, Mexico, and Europe and has a particular fondness for New York City, Rome, Madrid, Florence, and Barcelona. Daniel is married to his beautiful wife and partner in crime, Magdalena. They have a busy but vibrant house with four children. Despite the demands of writing and raising a family, Daniel carves out time to write and revise during frigid winter mornings at the local arena while watching his kids play hockey. Daniel currently resides in the picturesque Ottawa Valley.
