She obtained her bachelor's degree from Rutgers University College of Nursing and holds a master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing in obstetrics and gynecology. Upon graduation, she helped develop the first obstetric nurse practitioner hospitalist position for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this role, which she still currently holds, she has provided care for women in several different areas including high-risk antepartum and postpartum, and is involved in nursing and resident education.Mrs. Nagtalon-Ramos is Assistant Professor at Rutgers University and a Senior Lecturer at Penn Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Philadelphia. For the past 9 years, Mrs. Nagtalon-Ramos has a cadre of teaching experience in both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs including clinical instruction in obstetric ultrasound and for the maternal-child rotation and didactic teaching in physical assessment, well-woman/gynecology, antepartum, integration/advance practice role and fetal evaluation courses.'Mrs. Nagtalon-Ramos has presented locally, nationally and internationally on a wide array of topics that are primarily focused on women's health, including the advanced practice nursing role, postpartum care, infectious disease in pregnancy, contraceptive counseling, breastfeeding, role of culture in providing obstetrical care and utilizing technology to improve clinical practice.Mrs. Nagtalon-Ramos serves as the Secretary for the Board of Directors Executive Committee for the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health and has co-chaired the 2012 and 2013 annual conferences. In 2013, she earned 3rd place in the Child Health Category in the American Journal of Nursing's Book of the Year Awards. In 2014, she was the recipient of the Philadelphia Tri-State Area GEM award in the Education and Mentorship category and the Rising Star award from Rutgers University School of Nursing. She is also the recipient of several awards from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing including the 2012 Recent Alumni Award for Clinical Excellence, 2013 Department of Family and Community Health Teaching Excellence Award, and the 2014 Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching.'
