Can a Magic brush help Khalil get his love for painting back? Khalil is a young boy who loves to paint. Until one day he can't do it anymore because he believes his classmates are all much better at it than he is. He comes home to his concerned father, an established painter with a trick for helping his son paint again. Khalil's father shows him a magic brush his own father had given to him, that will help Khalil paint again if he follows some important steps. Khalil's Magic Brush, written and illustrated by Aisling Herron, has well crafted text that is simple for early readers and enjoyable for parents. The world our young artist inhabits is a colorful and cozy, filled with possibility. This tender story between a father and son is full of wisdom, compassion, magic and humor. This is an ideal book for introducing children to art, self esteem and how to grapple with comparison. This book encourages children to find the magic spark that makes them artist and share it with the world. A great gift for budding artists on birthdays, holidays, and celebrations.
