Don Kennedy is a resident of Makaha Valley on Oahu, Hawaii. Previously he was a longtime resident of Nevada: Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe. Don was born and raised in Wisconsin and is a graduate of Concordia College, Milwaukee. He's a member of the Hawaii Writer's Guild. This is Don's second book. His first book, "Kids Say The Darndest Things To Santa Claus," was published in September, 2019. The book won the Honorable Mention Award in the Readers' Favorite 2020 International Book Awards in Children Non-Fiction. Don has been writing all of his life, starting as Editor of his high school newspaper and sports reporter for his local newspaper. In his youth, Don was appointed as a Congressional Page in the United States House of Representatives. He studied for the ministry at Concordia College. He worked as a staff assistant for the Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin and served a 4 year term as an elected member of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors. Don worked in the news media for a decade as an on-air personality for radio and TV plus as an editor/publisher for many magazines and newspapers. His next career was as a Marketing executive for casino resorts in 7 states: Nevada, California, Oregon, New Mexico, Indiana, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Don served on the judge's panel for a decade for the prestigious Romero Awards, for excellence in Casino Marketing. Don served as a lecturer and speaker at many colleges and universities plus conventions, conferences and seminars. He's been an associate member and officer for the NFL Alumni for two decades. His passion, for 25 years, has been as a volunteer Santa Claus for charitable and community organizations that did not have the funds to hire a Santa. He made appearances at Hospitals, women's and children's shelters, military bases, fire shelters, Boys & Girls Clubs, churches, schools, children's recreation centers and everywhere in between. Don loves music, sunsets, travel, reading plus lakes and oceans. He has a brother, two nieces, a nephew, a great niece and great nephew.
