After his friend Michelle McNamara suddenly passed away, he, her husband, and her researcher helped finish her book, I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, about the hunt for the Golden State Killer, which became a New York Times #1 bestseller, and he was co-executive producer of the subsequent HBO docuseries. He produced and costarred in the Investigation Discovery series Unraveled, the first season of which focused on the investigation into the Long Island Serial Killer.
