Troy Martin is a good guy who has done a lot of bad things. After decades of anger and violence, he embarks on a surfing trip to Nicaragua with four years of sobriety under his belt. He is trying to be a new man traveling a spiritual path. Troy catches amazing waves and attends local AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) meetings where he makes eccentric and dangerous new friends. The resentments he carries around cause him to make bad decisions with tragic, bloody consequences. He still attempts to fight his way through, leaving a trail of dead bodies behind, until his present comes face to face with his past. In order to make it out of Central America alive, he will have to come to terms with lifelong resentments and make amends for his deeds. He will have to lay to rest his younger selves . . . both the hurt child and the adult who did the hurting.
Autorenporträt
Will Thatcher is a sober man, at least as of the publishing of this book. He is also a proud dad, sometimes successful entrepreneur, and doing his best as a husband. After he finishes with AA (Alcoholics Anonymous), family stuff, work, the gym, surfing, and mountain biking he writes literary thrillers featuring sober characters. He favors redemption stories where characters scratch and claw their way out of hellish situations. In his books, the good guys possess terrible character defects and the bad guys have good reasons for their behavior. The characters step on each other's toes and suffer retaliation. AA themes provide endless opportunities for conflict where characters' problems are of their own making. Will ensures the resolution is always bloody and triumphant.NOTE: Will's books are fiction and will not help you get sober or stay sober. They feature sober characters and themes that are meant to entertain. Addicts and alcoholics may identify with the characters and themes but this book should not be used as a supplement for recovery. There are plenty of great books to assist with the process and you can find many of them here: https://www.aa.org/resources/literature.
