Autorenporträt
I was born in Sandusky, Ohio. Moved to Houston, Texas in 1977 and then moved to Connecticut in 1979, where I reside to this day. Graduated from Southern CT State University in 1986 with a degree in Bachelor of Science. In 1996 I met my husband and was married in 2001.

I worked at a nursing home for 17 years, until one day my husband had a dream of opening up a martial arts school. So I quit my job and helped him live his dream. In 2002, together we opened up a martial arts school. I became the Director/Coordinator, while he taught the classes. He was a 1st degree black belt at the time (now 5th degree). Not knowing much about the martial arts and teaching, he encouraged me to start assisting in his classes.

I became a Certified Instructor in 2003 and started teaching classes ages 3 yrs. to teenagers. Also in that same year; I started my martial arts training. In 2007, I proudly earned my Black Belt. Because of a previous knee injury, I had to discontinue my training, but continued to enjoy teaching classes and providing one-on-one private lessons. In 2012, I was honored to be inducted into the "Martial Arts Masters Hall of Fame".

In 2014, I started thinking about how I could help children with their own personal journey and how martial arts can help them now and throughout their life. I want children to get excited about learning, achieving goals and having a "Yes I Can" attitude. Through the martial arts, I have enjoyed watching the children over the years become respectful, confident young adults.
