The Kinetics and Mechanisms of the Comparative Study of Some Triphenylmethane Dyes Reaction with Cyanide Ion in Acidic Media was carried out. The stoichiometry for each of the system was observed to be 1:2. All the reactions were carried out under pseudo first order reaction condition. The order of the reaction was found to be first order with respect to the concentrations of the reductants and oxidants with second order overall for all the systems. All reactions were insensitive to changes in acid concentrations. Increase in concentrations of ionic strength inhibited the reaction for [MG+]-[CN-] and [MG2+]-[CN-] system while it had no effect for [BG+]-[CN-] and [CV+]-[CN-] systems. Added cations were observed to inhibit the reactions of malachite green - CN-, crystal violet - CN- systems and methyl green-CN- system, while it showed no effect on the brilliant green-CN- system. Added anion showed no effect on the rate of reaction for all the systems, except for the crystal violet - CN- system where it inhibits the reaction rate. The rates of all the reactions were catalyzed by variation of dielectric constant for all the systems.
