These exercises are often taken out of context or do not relate to students experiences which make students acquire only rules about grammar, spelling and punctuation. This way language remains undeveloped because the social, cultural and ideological contexts are marginalized. Language learning demands that students express their feelings by making aesthetic responses. This seems impossible when language learning is regarded as fixed data or non-negotiable meanings. By reading literary texts, students may identify for different levels of meaning and interpretations that involve personal expression and group interaction.
