This collection of vintage and modern images traces the development of Hanford, Lemoore, Corcoran, Avenal, Kettleman City, Armona, Stratford, Grangeville, Hardwick, Lakeside, the Santa Rosa Rancheria, Lemoore Naval Air Station, and the Tulare Lake basin, as well as the lesser-known places and events that make up the story of the county. Roberts, a fifth-generation Californian, has drawn images from the Kings County Library and Museum, the Hanford Carnegie Museum, and private collections to chronicle Kings County's growth from a waterless wasteland to an agricultural giant.
