Ann Hudson writes on decisions for early retirement, highlighting the difference today, in the twenties, of the choice to cash in one's pension, in contrast to being pensioned off in the eighties, and in doing so questions how, and if, to use one's leisure interests to increase one's pension to a ripe old age.

Autorenporträt
The author, Ann Hudson, filled in time, waiting for the wind, when sailing in the Mediterranean, working on botanical illustrations, and went on to produce botanical illustrations of aquatic plants for Ness Botanic Gardens, University of Liverpool. The paintings were exhibited in Scotland where she was awarded the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society Scientific Bronze Medal. This collection is held in the World Museum Liverpool. After concentrating on botanical collections, she returned to her passion, writing. It's in her blood; her grandfather was a newspaper editor.
