Despite its potential to thrive well on meager resources under extreme climatic conditions, sometime sudden temperature variations make this animal susceptible to various infections such as respiratory tract infections. Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative, capsulated bacillus belonging to the family Enterobacteriaceae. In camels, K. pneumoniae reported from acute destructive bronchopneumonia and community-acquired bacterial pneumonia. Since, camel has declared state animal of Rajasthan state (India) it is very important to take care camel health and it's management. Klebsiella pneumoniae has not only important role in governing camel health but also have significant contribution in antimicrobial resistance. Thus it is become very important to percolate information of K. pneumoniae virulence and associated antimicrobial resistance when it obtained from camel.

The author is an Assistant Professor, Vety. Microbiology at PGIVER, RAJUVAS, Jaipur. He has obtained Ph.D. by Inspire fellowship of DST, India in RAJUVAS. Author has published more than 4o national & international articles and working as PI & CO-PI of various projects. He is working on antimicrobial resistance and virulence of bacterial pathogens.
