Autorenporträt
STUART GRAY first visited Knockhill in 1977, just three years after the circuit was opened, spectating as a fifteen-year-old at the Scottish round of the British Rallycross Championship. This was to be the start of a lifelong association with the Fife circuit. One of his first competitive events, aged seventeen, was at Knockhill taking part in an MG Car Club driving AutoTest. He was a frequent spectator at car race meetings and then raced on a regular basis at Ingliston and Knockhill from 1985 to 1990, by which time he was a full-time member of the Knockhill team. His career there started in 1986 with a vocational work placement while studying for his sports management degree at Moray House College. Stuart's initial role was as the senior racing driver instructor for the newly created Knockhill Driving Experiences, and he also pursued sales of corporate days and group bookings. In 1990 he became a founding Director of the Association of Racing Driver Schools and British Association of Rally Schools and a Director of the local tourism association. Subsequently, he was appointed Assistant Circuit Manager, then Circuit Manager and ultimately Knockhill Director of Events and Marketing. In 2012 Stuart also became Chairman of the Knockhill Motor Sports Club.
