Professor emérito em Ciências da Informação e Comunicação, iniciou a sua carreira no Institut de Formation des Conseillers d'Orientation de Marseille, depois na École de Journalisme e no Institut d'Études Politiques d'Aix en Provence. Ele também tem sido conselheiro de vários Reitores da Academia sobre a formação contínua de professores.
