As a woman in the medical fratenity, I have observed women presenting late with breast cancer at advanced stage when no curative measures could be done but only palliative care to improve their quality of life. On assessment I have discovered that most of the women do not know how to examine their breast for cancer. This book encourages women to take a leading role in breast cancer awareness, being responsible for their own health. It has been discovered that the practice of women in breast self-examination does not tally with the knowledge they have. As a woman I am encouraging fellow women to take charge of their health. Women should familiarise with their breasts so that any abnormality can be detected early. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer related deaths in women so they should be alert for early diagnosis and treatment.
