Education can be described as the planned process of learning undertaken by intent. It is thus an artificial creation unlike the natural learning process which takes place throughout one's life. The process of planned education usually commences at a young age by attending primary schools and proceeds thereafter at higher levels in secondary schools and colleges. This constitutes the formal path of education. In many developing countries there exist significant segments of population who have missed this traditional route of education, but still need to be brought into this path to ensure harmonious development of the nation. Education addresses itself to these segments of population usually in the non-formal forms of Education programmes.
