Marco Bettiol is an Associate Professor of Business Management at the Department of Economics and Management "Marco Fanno", University of Padova, Italy. His research focuses on the relationship between design, innovation and firm competitiveness; design and knowledge management; information technology and marketing strategy. His research has been published in international books, and in journals such as Design Issues, Journal of Knowledge Management, International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal, European Planning Studies, and Advances in International Management. Eleonora Di Maria is a Full Professor of Business Management, Department of Economics and Management "Marco Fanno", University of Padova, Italy. Her research focuses on internationalization, innovation and sustainability strategies of firms, and local economic systems, as well as on evolutionary trends of knowledge-intensive business services. Her research has been publishedin international books, and in journals such as Research Policy, Business Strategy and the Environment, Journal of Knowledge Management, International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal, European Planning Studies, Industry and Innovation, and Advances in International Management. Stefano Micelli is Full Professor of Business Management at the Ca' Foscari University, Venice, Italy. His research focuses on innovation and firm competitiveness, craftsmanship, design, clusters and globalization. He has been leading national and international projects on the future of manufacturing and innovation, and on competences and knowledge management in the new technological scenario. His research has been published in Italian books (Futuro Artigiano) and international books, and journals such as Design Issues, European Planning Studies, Research Policy, Business Strategy and the Environment.
