This study made it possible to assess the knowledge of pulmonary tuberculosis and the prevention practices of the people around contagious tuberculosis patients seen at the CSU of Kouto. At the end of the study, we can affirm that the immediate non-medical entourage of tuberculosis patients in the study area has a lot of information about the disease. However, it appears that this knowledge is limited and often erroneous. In fact, we note a very good dissemination of information on the existence of TB, a good knowledge of the main symptom. The population is aware of the seriousness of this highly contagious disease according to them. Hence the need to adopt healthy practices to protect oneself, but we must recognize that these measures are not well known to the general public. Therefore, a health education is important for the general public where the emphasis will be put on the means of contamination and the behaviors to adopt in case of presumption or in case of the disease. Finally, this work could be completed and continued in different aspects. It would be relevant to extend it to the national level in order to include more people.
