A Christian ought to seek to understand the Almighty God as much as possible through the Scriptures. Tozer's The Knowledge of the Holy brings the reader along this pursuit. I loved following his train of thought. The book is an easy read, yet the concepts are of such depth that you can't help but pause often to contemplate and thank God for who He is. I read this as part of my morning devotions. Each chapter is easy to read in one sitting. Here's a taste from his chapter on "The Justice of God." "When infinite equity encountered our chronic and willful in-equity, there was violent war between the two, a war which God won and must always win. But when the penitent sinner casts himself upon Christ for salvation, the moral situation is reversed. Justice confronts the changed situation and pronounces the believing man just. Thus justice actually goes over to the side of God's trusting children. This is the meaning of those daring words of the apostle John: 'If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.'" Rebekah Schrepfer
