Despite the concerted research efforts and innovation explosion in agriculture, the productivity of the agricultural crop in India is still far behind as compared to that of developed countries. To achieve a high level of production, it is necessary to transfer the latest technology from the research system to farm families. For the past three decades many programmes have been implemented in the country for the transfer of new technology to farming community. Krishi Vigyan Kendra is the latest effort in this direction which primarily focuses on vocational training in agriculture and allied subjects. This book has been specially written to serve as a guide for students and teachers of Extension Education in Agriculture, Home Science and other related disciplines in agricultural universities and colleges of developing countries. It shall also serve as important tool in various extension programmes of Government departments, NGOs and all those connected with the development and transfer of technology.
