This manual contains a series of proposals of activities to help professional and non-professional monitors to organize group workshops with children and adolescents who have been in contexts of social injustice, violence and mistreatment produced by adults. After a long professional experience in the field of child resilience, the authors have succeeded in developing a highly effective program aimed at mobilizing, developing and strengthening both the personal capacities and the social potential of children and adolescents who are victims of mistreatment and abuse. The activities and techniques presented here are primarily aimed at relieving the pain and stress resulting from the aggressions corresponding to the first blows (in this case, it is a matter of influencing the traumatic memories of children who are victims of these severe adversities and/or maltreatment). Another objective is to prevent and cancel the impact of the secondary victimization of the subsequent beatings. The proposed workshops are a bridge to new relational experiences of good treatment, as they are highly humanizing: children and adolescents will come to enjoy an affectionate and respectful social environment where they are recognized as legitimate persons, while being supported in the discovery of the unfair reality of their situation, restoring their confidence in themselves and in interpersonal relationships. A richly illustrated book that teaches how to overcome, thanks to the love and solidarity of the resilience tutors, the adversities of life and even emerge stronger from them.
