Mitarbeiter am Centre du Recherche sur le vitrail in Romont; 2000-04 Sekretär und seit Juli 2004 Geschäftsführer des Mediävistischen Instituts; 2016 Promotion. Forschungsschwerpunkte: Gotische Portalskulptur in Frankreich; Narrativik in der mittelalterlichen Kunst; Mittelalterrezeption im 19. Jahrhundert; Geschichte der Denkmalpflege.

"Der vorliegende dreisprachige Sammelband beruht auf einem dreitägigen Freiburger Kolloquium, das vom 9. bis
zum 11. September 2019 stattfand. Er stellt sich einerseits in die Tradition der kritischen Reflektion des Königstods, hat aber andererseits auch das Ziel, Verflechtungsgeschichte, Zeremonien und literarische Diskurse in den Blick zu nehmen. Er ist in drei Abschnitte geteilt, die sich der Behandlung der literarischen Darstellung des Königstods, der Realität und dem Diskurs rund um den Königstod sowie den einzelnen Königen bzw. ihren Funeralien und ihrem Sterben widmen. In der Einleitung wird knapp in die einzelnen Artikel eingeführt. (...) Insgesamt ist der Sammelband ein wichtiges interdisziplinäres Werk, das sich in die Traditionslinie seit Hope (1914) stellt und vor allem kastilische Riten in den Blick nimmt."
