Autorenporträt
Sheila Colón-Bagley is a stay-at-home mother turned children's book author. Her debut picture book, La Noche Before Three Kings Day, is illustrated by Alejandro Mesa. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sheila draws on her bicultural and bilingual experience as inspiration for her books. She is motivated by a desire to provide multicultural children with more stories about families that look and live like they do. Previously, she was a public relations specialist and freelance writer-editor before staying home after the birth of her third child and then becoming an author. Sheila holds a BA in journalism from Temple University and lives in North Carolina with her family and a spoiled Havanese dog named Vader.
