Autorenporträt
Tomás Eloy Martinez nació en Argentina en el año 1934. Su obra, traducida a siete idiomas, es considerada una de las más sólidas y deslumbrantes de la literatura Latinoamérica. Sus libros publicados incluyen Lugar común la muerte (1973), La mano del amo (1991) y Santa Evita (1995). En 1983 obtuvo una beca del Wilson Center y en 1987 una beca Guggenheim. Actualmente dirige el Programa de Estudios Latinoamericanos de la universidad Rutgers en Nueva Jersey donde es Profesor Distinguido.
