George Sand (1804-1876) est une femme de lettres française. Son oeuvre remarquablement prolifique est marquée par son positionnement en faveur des droits des femmes et contre les valeurs d'une société conservatrice. Elle est notamment l'auteur de Elle et Lui, qui revient sur sa relation tumultueuse avec Alfred de Musset, de La Mare au diable et de La petite Fadette.
