Autorenporträt
Jose Eduardo Agualus was born in Angola in December 1960. He lived in Angola, Portugal and Brazil, and actually resided in Luanda, the capital of Angola. He is a writer and a journalist. His books have been translated in 25 languages and among them should be highlighted A conjura (1988), winner of the Premio Revelación Sonangol; Nación criolla (1997), winner of the Gran Premio de Literatura RTP and El venedor de pasados (2004), whose english edition appeared in 2006 and won the Independent Foreign Fiction award. He received a scholarship for the Centro NAcional de la Cultura and the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dients. In 2018 his work Teoría general del olvido (012) won the 2019 Premio Libreter de novela. Further he has published La reina Ginga and his latest novel published in 2019 is La sociedad de los soñadores involuntarios.
