More than one-third of maternal deaths, half of the stillbirths, and a quarter of neonatal deaths result from complications during labor and childbirth. The majority of these deaths occur in low-resource settings and are largely preventable through timely interventions. Monitoring labor and childbirth, and early identification and treatment of complications are critical for preventing adverse birth outcomes.Bule Hora University, Institute of Health, Midwifery and Nursing department is focused on developing this labor & delivery manual for understanding the theoretical and practical aspects of the health care delivery system across the globe. This manual is intended for use by nursing, midwifery, and medical professionals, and those in training for those health science professions.
