The Labor Contract Law of the People's Republic of China was adopted on June 29, 2007 and became effective on January 1, 2008. It was revised by the top Chinese legislature on December 28, 2012. The application of Labor Contract Law is extremely important. It is designed to develop a harmonious and stable labor relationship, and promote the building of a harmonious socialist society in China. It also aims to provide better protection for the legal rights of Chinese workers.
