Key to successful oral implantology is not only exhaustive clinical training but also the knowledge of laboratory procedures. It is important for us to know about all the lab procedures so that we can easily guide our technicians to create the best functional and aesthetic prostheses for a holistic treatment of our patients. The laboratory procedures are necessary to ensure proper fixture placement and fabrication of a functionally, esthetically and biomechanically sound prosthesis. The importance of the various laboratory procedures will be discussed in this book to reduce the risk of implant failure due to improper and inadequate knowledge, which play major role in the success of implant retained / supported prosthesis.
