Despite significant growth and development, the RMG industry has been facing some problems. High labour turnover is one of them, as it severely affects business performance, the workers themselves, and decreases labour productivity. The high labour turnover and recent labour unrest are the consequences of longstanding violation of financial, social, and attitudinal factors, including low wages, forced labour, long working hours, job insecurity, and arrears in payment.

Gazi Mohammad Farid Hossain is an assistant professor at the Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh. He has completed his Master of Economics from the University of New England, Australia. He also did his Bachelor(Honours) and Masters from the Islamic University, Bangladesh. His research interest is Human Resource Management.
