Lachlan 'Lachie' David Turner (born 11 May 1987, Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian rugby union player contracted to the NSW Waratahs. He is seen as one of the fastest wingers in Australia and his ability to run from deep has seen him score some incredible solo tries. Turner's strong kicking game has also allowed him to play at fullback on numerous occasions for his club. Turner graduated from Newington College in 2005 to represent Australia at Under-19 level, and made his Waratahs debut against QLD in the 2006 APC. Turner plays club rugby for Eastwood and usually plays as a winger or fullback. In 2006 Turner became the first person to take out the Chris Whitaker Aspiring Waratah Award for the most outstanding player in the NSW Waratah Academy. He established himself in the Waratahs first team during the disappointing 2007 season. The highlight ofthe season for Turner came during the clash against the Crusaders at Aussie Stadium when he scored a solo try from his own half, beating several defenders for pace.
