Over the last few decades rural topography has changed dramatically in our country. Many cultivation elements have been removed to facilities cultivation. The availability of water and control of water flow through drainage have been constant concern in rural land management, especially in region where climate and physical condition are favorable. The current agro-ecosystem research with goal of increasing productivity and sustainability has part an extended approach to agricultural necessary in relation to environment. Topography or landscape is a valuable entity to spatial hierarchical level of agro-ecosystem research. So planning and management of agriculture in relation to the over all environment is very much necessary context for overall economic development. Water resource availability is good in the alluvial terrain of the Ganga delta. The Paschim Medinipur district has not faced any major problem about ground water availability. The changes that had been taken place in the transformation of agriculture in the district during the last fore decade s specially increasing use of ground water for agriculture.
