The present article is the result of theoretical and empirical research of a Master's dissertation in Geography. The objective of the research is to analyze the Settlement Progresso in the municipality of Pequizeiro-TO, as a fraction of the capitalist territory from the new forms of production and social relations of production. The study is based on the analysis of the Settlement Development Plan - PDA and interviews to the settlers. The method used was dialectical materialism to analyze the recurrent social contradictions in the countryside and the impact of the creation of the Settlement Progresso on the settled families. The results indicated that the creation of the settlement marked the transition from business land to working land, but that after 2002 it pointed in the direction of the production of raw material (milk) for the industry and, consequently, created a relationship not established before, since the surplus had in its destinations mainly the fairs of the region and subsistence consumption. Now the relationship is of subordination of peasant production to the industry, it is the sale of milk for dairy products.
