Rajesh Gopal served as Director, Bandhavgarh National Park and Field Director, Kanha Tiger Reserve, for more than a decade. He has several publications to his credit and has also authored a textbook on wildlife management. He has received numerous awards, including the Ministry of Environment and Forest Medal (1993) for meritorious service towards tiger conservation
