The general aim of the study was to document and analyse land tenure reforms in relation to cultural change in Taita Hills, using Werugha Sub-Location as a case study. In order to do this, the study attempted to carry out the following specific objectives: (a) documented and analysed culture and land tenure system in the area before the land reforms. (b) documented and analysed the impact of land tenure reforms on the culture. In the study, culture is seen in its broad perspective based on historical materialism as discussed in chapter two below.
